As another
gardening year rolls around we wish everyone will experience
a year filled with joy and bountiful gardens. In todays world
we are challenged by war, terrorism, fear, greed, and tragic
events all magnified by the media. Thankfully, we can still
escape to the garden. This can be a vegetable garden, an outdoor
living room with plants, water, garden paths, or a comfortable
seat in the shade of a tree on a hot day. This is our own
space away from the cares of the world. In this retreat we
are safe. Here we can experience nature in all its beauty
and curiosity. In our retreat we appreciate our part of the
world that is beautiful, orderly, refreshing, and tranquil.
In this world we don't have to be intimidated by current events.
Here current events are waiting for our favorite flowers to
bloom, finding that first ripe tomato, or feeding the fish
in the pond. This is nature at its finest with butterflys,
birds, and toads. Gardening gives us a greater sense of purpose
and an appreciation of the natural world around us. May your
gardening experience reward you with the peace and beauty
nature intended.
